Telford & Wrekin Council building a bright future for Wellington
Vision
Telford & Wrekin Council is committed to continuous investment in its leisure facilities. At Wellington Civic and Leisure Centre, we are enhancing the experience for our users while reducing our carbon footprint.
This is our third major project in three years, bringing both sustainability improvements and upgraded facilities for members and pay-as-you-go visitors.
The project
This project is supported by Telford & Wrekin Council Leisure Services.
Supported by Telford & Wrekin Council Leisure Services, this investment will focus on modernising Wellington Civic and Leisure Centre’s infrastructure.
Works will include:
- installing an air source heat pump
- upgrading the hot water system
- adding roof and wall insulation
- enhancing the swimming pool area with new lighting, improved ventilation, and promenade upgrades.
These changes reflect the council’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2030.
Further upgrades to the health suite and changing rooms are also in development, with new lockers and additional changing cubicles planned. More details will be shared as the project progresses.
