The LABC Building Excellence Awards were held at the Telford International Centre on Friday 7 June 2019. The LABC Building Excellence Awards 2019 recognised the quality in all types of building projects.

Telford & Wrekin Council were delighted to have 7 shortlisted finalists for the LABC Building Excellence Awards 2019. The awards celebrate and reward the excellent buildings, outstanding companies, and partnerships and individuals that go the extra mile.

Our shortlisted finalists were

Paul O’Connell - Springfield Industrial Estate, Newport: LABC Construction Professional of 2019 and the Best Social or Affordable New Housing Development 2019. “The Lovell housing site at Station Rd, Newport was very well run and organised by site manager, Paul O’Connell which I observed during my site inspections. Health and safety was very well provided and managed and safe routes about the site well defined.”

Dee Close and Minsterley Close: LABC Best Social or Affordable New Housing Development 2019. “The Site Manger Wayn has achieved a very high standard of work on a development which will be an enhancement to the area and provide much needed accommodation of this type.”

Graham Handley: LABC Best Local Builder or Traditional Craftsmen 2019. “His work is exemplary and it is always a pleasure to visit his projects as the standard of work is always to a very high standard.”

Glencarron Loft Conversion: LABC Best extension to alteration to an existing home 2019. “From the first meeting where we discussed the inspection process and work, to the final visit everything was carried out in a professional way and to the expected high standard.”

11 Queen Street Madeley: LABC Best Individual New Home 2019. “The relationship between LABC surveyors and M&S Taylor could not be more constructive. They have an unrivalled reputation for excellent work and the fact that they are past winners and finalists in the LABC awards demonstrates their commitment to upholding the highest standards.”

Neal Court Dawley: LABC Best high volume new housing development 2019 and Best Social or Affordable New Housing Development 2019. “The team at Hawk worked closely, positively and most importantly successfully with us, the client and other areas of the council whilst maintaining care and attention to the adjacent Telford Langley School.”

Lawley Care Home: LABC Best Commercial Project 2019. “This project was delivered on site by ourselves at Telford & Wrekin Council along with our partners at LABC and LNT construction.
