Referendum
A Referendum relating to the Tibberton & Cherrington Neighbourhood Development Plan was held on Thursday 11 November 2021.
The question asked in the Referendum was:
"Do you want the Borough of Telford & Wrekin to use the neighbourhood plan for Tibberton & Cherrington to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?"
The count took place on Thursday 11 November 2021 and 93.8% of those who voted were in favour of the plan being used to help decide planning applications in the plan area. A report has been prepared for the 2 December 2021 Cabinet meeting, seeking to have the Tibberton & Cherrington Parish Neighbourhood Development Plan made.

Decision Statement
On 23 September 2021, Telford & Wrekin Council's Cabinet agreed to proceed to referendum on the draft Tibberton & Cherrington Neighbourhood Development Plan. As required by the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations a decision statement has been published and can be viewed below:

Tibberton and Cherrington Parish Neighbourhood Plan Submission - Closed consultation
Tibberton and Cherrington Parish Council submitted their Neighbourhood Development Plan to Telford & Wrekin Council for publication and formal consultation before it is independently examined. The eight week consultation began on 9 November 2020 and ran to 4 January 2021. The Tibberton and Cherrington Neighbourhood Development Plan is accompanied by supporting documents including a Basic Conditions Statement and a Consultation Statement.
The Tibberton and Cherrington Parish Neighbourhood Plan establishes a long term view for the Tibberton and Cherrington area and will help deliver the local community's aspirations and needs for the plan period 2020 - 2031. It sets out a number of key objectives and planning policies which the Tibberton and Cherrington Parish Council wishes to be used to help determine planning applications in the Tibberton and Cherrington area.

Consultation on the draft neighbourhood plan (Regulation 14)
Tibberton and Cherrington Parish Council is consulting on its draft neighbourhood development plan. The plan will guide future development of the area and contain planning policies which will be used to determine planning applications.

All comments must be sent by Saturday 29 February 2020 to Tibberton and Cherrington Parish Council; the comments form and contact details are on their website.

Designation of a neighbourhood area
The first formal step in the process is to designate a neighbourhood area and define the proposed boundary covered by a plan. In October 2018 Tibberton and Cherrington Parish Council applied for the designation of the neighbourhood area, the proposed boundary being the whole of the parish boundary area.
A consultation of at least six weeks began on 15 November 2018 until 10 January 2019 and Telford & Wrekin Council approved the application in January 2019.
