The requirements for declaring the quantity of an ingredient apply to ingredients and categories of ingredients that meet the following three conditions:
- they appear in the name of the food or are normally associated with the food
- they are emphasised on the labelling, in words, pictures or graphics.
They are essential to characterise the food and distinguish it from similar products.
