The planning system requires that retail and town centre uses are located in the most suitable locations in order to support these activities and cater for the needs of their catchment population.
The key purpose of the Retail and Leisure Capacity Study and Health Check Study is to act as the evidence base to assist in the formulation of future development plan policy, as well as providing baseline information to assist in the determination of planning applications for retail and leisure development.
