Scrap disposal

Thinking about using a scrap dealer to remove your items?

Did you know that leaving any scrap metal items such as old fridges, freezers, washing machines etc on public land is not okay, this could be seen as fly tipping and you could receive a fine. You risk being reported for fly tipping and that is a criminal offence.

The scrap dealer you are using must be properly licensed to be able to dispose of your scrap correctly too, so it is your responsibilty to check.

The environment agency publishes a public register which clearly identifies all licenced scrap metal collectors included those who are permitted to collect in Telford and Wrekin.
