Join our Street Champions
We have an ever-increasing number of young people wanting to volunteer and become street champions with their family members. We’re really proud of this because young people are our future and it’s important they can contribute to making a positive difference in their local environment, acting as incredible role models to their peers.
Complete our online form to apply to become a street champion

Take part in our borough wide litter picking day on Saturday 4 April 2025
We are looking for people to help us co-ordinate litter picks around the borough. The Council can provide litter picking equipment, risk assessments, waste bags and organise for any rubbish to be taken away.
For further information please email pride.officer@telford.gov.uk.
Organise your own litter picking event
If you would like to organise your own event, please get in touch with us at pride.officer@telford.gov.uk.
Schools
We’d like to invite your school to get involved in the Great British Spring Clean, the nation's biggest mass-action environmental campaign. We’re calling on #LitterHeroes across the country to clear litter from streets - what is good for our environment is good for our mental and physical health too. Plus, there are some great prizes up for grabs too!
Telford & Wrekin Council, with help from street champions, volunteers, community groups, businesses, and partners, will be holding litter picks across the borough and we sincerely hope you can join us.
We’ll be on hand to help with equipment so taking part couldn’t be easier!
If you are a school and would like to register for the Great British Spring Clean competition, please get in touch with us at pride.officer@telford.gov.uk.
Don't forget to share your story
If you are getting involved and want to share your story to encourage others to pledge, tag in @TelfordWrekin on Facebook and Twitter and use the hashtags:
- #GBSpringClean
- #LitterHeroes.
Individuals, groups and organisations can still all pledge to take part. Whether you commit to do five minutes or five hours, every pledge helps clear litter pollution from our environment.
