Child and Family Ambassadors
Volunteers support families as part of our stepdown plan for families who have been supported by our Strengthening Families team. Volunteers are usually required during the day, but some actives do take part in the evening or weekend.
Leaving Care Mentors
Volunteer mentors provide support to our Care leavers aged 18 - 25 who are venturing into the next stage of their lives. This could involve regular meetings and calls to support them engaging in training, education or employing, building up confidence, or using public transport or using local shops.
Family Group Conference Advocate
This will involves supporting a vulnerable child or adult at a Family Group Conference. You will be in the room to support the individual or conference if required. This role is not a regular commitment, however when you are supporting a family you are likely to spend 2 to 4 hours with them at time, per week for a few weeks.
Shining Stars
An opportunity to support a parent lead play and sensory session for Children who have special educational needs from 0 - 4. This session runs weekly on Tuesday and will involve setting up and supporting the parents and help clear up at the end of the session.
All volunteers will be required to complete an application form before being invited to an informal chat. Successful volunteers will be required to complete a DBS, and 2 references will be taken.
All volunteers are provided with a combination online and face to face training and will be supported by the Volunteer coordinator and Team Leads throughout their role.
