The erection of any structure over a public highway such as scaffolding or a hoarding will require a licence from us before it can be erected.
An additional licence is needed if you plan to install a protective fan.
Applicable regulations
The regulations that apply to this licence are as follows:
- Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
- Construction (Design and Management) Regulation 2007
- Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
Conditions of the licence
A licence may set down standards on such matters as lighting or painting the scaffold, or for a fan it may restrict the height at which it is set.
Charges
There is a non-refundable charge of £100 to cover the administrative cost in processing the licence. We will not begin to process the application without payment.
Appealing against an unsuccessful application
If you are still unhappy about the decision you may appeal to Telford Magistrates Court.
