Work experience opportunities before GCSEs

Work experience in year ten is a great time to learn about different careers, and experience what it is like in a working environment.

Here at Telford & Wrekin Council we are committed to providing you with a work experience placement that you enjoy, that allows you to use and grow your skills. We want you to consider a career with us when you finish school, college or university, so it is important to us that you have a great experience!

It is advised to apply at least 1 month prior to the placement start date and at least 3 months prior if the placement requires a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Services).

When you leave school there are many options open to you, whether it be to continue study or enter the world of work. Visit the National Careers Service website for more information about helping you consider what your next move might be.

If you are at college you might need a work placement as part of your course, or you may be looking to build your knowledge in a specific area to inform your career choices. Here you will find details of the current placements we have available.
